You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Institute, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses arising from:
The Institute is committed to collecting the minimum personal data necessary to deliver its services. This section serves as the Institute's privacy disclosure and describes our data practices across the website, Member Portal, and related services. The Institute operates under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable to individuals in the European Economic Area (EEA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The Institute adheres to the following data handling principles: collecting only what is necessary for service delivery (data minimization), retaining data only as long as needed (storage limitation), being transparent about what is collected and why (transparency), and providing individuals with the ability to exercise their rights over their data (access and control).
General use of the website does not require account creation, login, or the submission of personal information. The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As part of standard service delivery, Cloudflare may process technical metadata such as IP addresses, request headers, and connection information at the network level. The Institute does not independently collect, access, store, or analyze this network-level data.
If you subscribe to the Institute's newsletter, your email address is collected and managed through Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), a third-party email service provider headquartered in France. Your email is used solely for the purpose of delivering newsletter communications. This processing is based on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing through any newsletter email. Your email data is subject to Brevo's own privacy policy and data protection practices.
When you access the Member Portal using an access code, the following data processing occurs:
Session tokens. Upon successful login, the server generates a stateless session token that is cryptographically signed using HMAC-SHA256. The token contains your access tier, content permissions, and an expiry timestamp (24 hours from issuance). This token is stored only in your browser's sessionStorage (automatically cleared when the browser tab is closed) and is used to authenticate subsequent requests. The server does not store a copy of the session token. No email address, name, IP address, device fingerprint, or other directly identifying information is included in the token.
Access code records. Each access code has an associated record stored in a Cloudflare Workers KV store. This record contains: the access code, the associated tier and content permissions, active/revoked status, usage limits, a usage counter, the date the code was created, and a last-used timestamp. Access code records are retained for the active lifetime of the code.
Indirect personal data. Because access codes are issued to specific individuals (typically through purchase transactions or direct communication), the Institute recognizes that access code records may constitute indirect personal data when combined with external records such as purchase history or email correspondence. The legal basis for processing this data is legitimate interest in delivering and securing the service.
Payment information is processed through third-party providers (e.g., Stripe, Stan Store) and is not stored or handled by the Institute directly. These providers act as independent data controllers for payment data and are governed by their own privacy policies, data protection standards, and applicable regulations (including PCI DSS for payment card data).
The Institute uses the following third-party service providers in the delivery of its platforms:
Data stored in Cloudflare Workers KV may be processed on internationally distributed infrastructure, including servers located outside Canada and the European Economic Area (EEA). Where personal data is transferred to jurisdictions that do not provide an equivalent level of data protection, the Institute relies on the processor's Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or other appropriate safeguards as required under GDPR Chapter V and PIPEDA's cross-border transfer requirements.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. The Institute will respond to requests within 30 days. If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (for PIPEDA) or your local data protection authority (for GDPR).
For all privacy-related questions, data access requests, or concerns:

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia, Canada.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
The Institute may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on the website. Continued use of the website, Member Portal, or participation in offerings constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
